PULSELiONs 14th OPEN ACCESS PUBLICATION

Check out our 14th Open Access Publication from project PULSELiON – another great milestone by the team! More exciting results are on the way soon.

We proudly present the journal article “All-solid-state lithium batteries with NMC955 cathodes: PVDF-free formulation with SBR and capacity recovery insights”, published in Energy Materials (2025). ✨ This article was also featured on the back cover of Energy Materials journal — an honour for the PULSELiON team!

The study tackles the challenges of nickel-rich NMC955 cathodes in solid-state batteries. By using a PVDF-free sustainable binder (SBR) and optimized cycling protocols, the work demonstrates stable long-term performance, capacity recovery, and improved sustainability. The results position NMC955 as a promising cathode material for next-generation high-power and high-energy-density Solid State Batteries.

Congratulations to the contributing authors from project partner University of Porto (UPORTO) and collaborators across Europe: Beatriz M. Gomes, Manuela C. Baptista, Ander Orue, Bhattacharjya Dhrubajyoti, Sylwia Terlicka, Peter Sjövall, Nico Zamperlin, Carlos Fonseca, Jasmin Smajic, Ville Kekkonen, Willar Vonk, Artur Tron, Andy Schena, Anwar Ahniyaz, and Maria Helena Braga
