PULSELiON Publishes Public Summary of Deliverable D4.3 on Battery Module Design and Manufacturing
The PULSELiON project has published the public summary of Deliverable D4.3 – Report on Battery Module Design and Manufacturing, presenting an overview of the work carried out on battery module design within the project.
As PULSELiON advances the development of innovative solid-state battery manufacturing technologies based on Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD), battery module design plays an important role in translating cell-level innovations into practical energy storage solutions.
The report describes the battery module design and manufacturing process, exploring different design approaches and evaluating key considerations related to mechanical and electrical design. Particular attention is given to the compression required for proper cell operation, while also considering energy density, cost, safety, and manufacturing requirements.
In addition, the deliverable addresses cell integration, electrical and electronic connections, and thermal management, all of which are essential aspects of battery module development.
The overall objective is to establish a battery module design that is mechanically efficient, easy to assemble, cost-effective, and optimized for both volumetric and gravimetric energy density.
