PULSELiON Project Successfully Reaches Its Conclusion

After four years of collaboration, research, and innovation, the PULSELiON project has successfully reached its conclusion. Bringing together 15 partners from 10 European countries, the project set out to advance manufacturing technologies for next-generation solid-state batteries based on lithium metal anodes, sulfide solid electrolytes, and high-energy cathode materials.

Throughout the project, the consortium developed and validated innovative manufacturing approaches, advanced battery materials, digitalisation tools, and modelling frameworks designed to support the future industrialisation of solid-state batteries. The project culminated in the successful manufacture and testing of functional single-layer pouch cells, demonstrating the industrial feasibility of key elements of the PULSELiON technology approach.

Beyond its technical achievements, PULSELiON generated a strong scientific and dissemination impact, resulting in 30 peer-reviewed scientific publications, numerous conference contributions, project videos, newsletters, public reports, and stakeholder engagement activities across the European battery ecosystem.

The consortium would like to thank all project partners, stakeholders, researchers, policymakers, and followers who contributed to the success of PULSELiON. While the project has formally ended, its results, publications, public reports, and videos will remain available through the project website and will continue to support future research, innovation, and industrial development in the field of solid-state batteries.
