PULSELiON publishes its 26th Open Access Paper: “A New Three-Dimensional Microstructure-Resolved Model to Assess Mechanical Stress in Solid-State Battery Electrodes”

The PULSELiON project proudly announces its 26th Open Access publication, presenting a novel computational framework to assess mechanical stress evolution in solid-state battery (ASSB) electrodes.

Published in Batteries & Supercaps (Wiley-VCH, 2025), the study introduces a 3D microstructure-resolved finite element model that couples electrochemistry and solid mechanics. The model is based on realistic electrode architectures derived from wet manufacturing process simulations, enabling spatially resolved analysis of stress and deformation during lithiation.

This work lays the foundation for fully coupled mechano-electrochemical models, essential for designing durable and high-performance ASSB electrodes.
